In this compelling episode of the "What Would it Cost?" podcast, we're thrilled to host Raymond Hau, one of the pioneering founders of HAUS Real Estate. Dive deep into the core values that shape the unique culture at HAUS and discover how these principles aren't just ideals, but everyday practices that have a tangible impact on the real estate industry.
[00:00:00] We're all about staying humble, but definitely key thing is hustle hard.
[00:00:03] And we do that together as a unit, as an organization.
[00:00:06] I want to make a difference.
[00:00:08] I want to make a change because real estate has been great to me.
[00:00:11] This industry has been great for my family and I want to give back.
[00:00:14] If you were able to just give one tip, what would that be?
[00:00:16] Find a good mentor, find a good support system, find a good community.
[00:00:21] What's popping everybody?
[00:00:22] Welcome back to another episode of What Would It Cost.
[00:00:25] Today I'm sitting down with my boy Ray.
[00:00:28] We had an awesome episode on his podcast.
[00:00:30] It hit. We had lots of fun, lots of laughs.
[00:00:33] We're going to do the same today.
[00:00:34] This gentleman is very inspiring.
[00:00:36] He's a leader that cares for his soldiers and that puts them before himself
[00:00:40] and is worried about their books, their volume, their success
[00:00:44] and everything to do with company culture.
[00:00:46] And in between is an inspiring, inspiring gentleman I'm sitting next to right now.
[00:00:51] Ray, thank you for joining us today, my brother.
[00:00:53] That's for having me brother.
[00:00:57] My man Ray. My man Nick.
[00:01:01] Here we are. Nick.
[00:01:05] Regina, yeah, I got it this time.
[00:01:08] I got it this time.
[00:01:09] First time in the intro, he goes rhymes with a city in Saskatchewan.
[00:01:18] I like the call out brother, but it's good to be reacquainted here
[00:01:22] and that it's come full circle. Thanks for having me.
[00:01:24] Yeah, yeah.
[00:01:25] So stay humble and hustle.
[00:01:27] You know, hustle hard, stay humble.
[00:01:30] I'm right. All right.
[00:01:31] You and our podcast, the hustle hard, stay humble pod.
[00:01:35] And thanks for returning to favor.
[00:01:37] I'm here now. Yeah, yeah, there you go.
[00:01:39] Yeah, no problem.
[00:01:40] And I love what you guys are doing over there.
[00:01:43] It's not just simply returning the favor for allowing me on your platform.
[00:01:47] But I wanted to have you on here as
[00:01:51] you were invited a couple of times prior to me coming on your podcast,
[00:01:56] but you stiffed us.
[00:01:59] Not exactly true.
[00:02:00] No, we both step each other.
[00:02:02] OK, we both step each other.
[00:02:05] It's too cool.
[00:02:06] It was playing hard to get.
[00:02:07] But I got him. I got him in.
[00:02:08] I got him in.
[00:02:09] But no, long, long story short.
[00:02:11] Love what you're doing.
[00:02:12] Know that you have a team under you.
[00:02:15] You guys are moving and shaking in the business.
[00:02:17] Most recently, congratulations.
[00:02:19] You won an award for pounding some serious volume down.
[00:02:22] And that's not easy to do, especially in the market that we're in right now.
[00:02:29] But that comes from good leadership.
[00:02:30] That comes from good systems and processes that comes from good teammates.
[00:02:34] That comes from a culture, you know, where people are like minded
[00:02:39] and their hustling heart.
[00:02:40] So tell us a little bit about how you're at the
[00:02:42] how you play the role being at the helm of all that
[00:02:44] and what that looks like on an ongoing basis.
[00:02:47] Yeah, so a bit about our organization, where house real estate,
[00:02:50] H-A-U-S house kind of play on words with the H-O-U-S-E.
[00:02:55] And no, we're all about staying humble, but definitely key thing is hustle hard.
[00:03:00] And we do that together as a unit as an organization right now.
[00:03:04] We currently have 12 agents and six support staff.
[00:03:07] So almost like a two to one ratio.
[00:03:09] And I love it.
[00:03:11] And what I realized is that from the very beginning
[00:03:14] because I got my license 16 years ago,
[00:03:18] I entered real estate with no coach, no team, no mentor.
[00:03:22] And it was very toxic environment.
[00:03:24] Sixteen years ago, very doggy dog, Wolf of Wall Street style
[00:03:27] and a lot of help that I needed.
[00:03:29] I didn't get out to figure out, figure out myself basically.
[00:03:32] And I never want to see any other agent kind of walk my path
[00:03:35] in the first few years of my career.
[00:03:38] So that's why when I started a team,
[00:03:41] it first started called the house team.
[00:03:42] But then quickly I realized that it's not about me.
[00:03:46] It's not it's me and my brother co-founded the house team.
[00:03:48] It's not about us.
[00:03:50] It's about a community that we want to grow.
[00:03:53] Right? It's about house.
[00:03:54] So that's why we dropped the name, the house team.
[00:03:57] And now it's called House Real Estate and try to incorporate
[00:03:59] we pretty much incorporate that in everything.
[00:04:01] We have in house media, H-A-U-S in house.
[00:04:04] We have we call it open house, open house.
[00:04:08] And we try to do play on words
[00:04:10] and it's try to be creative with it.
[00:04:11] Even people some people come into open house like,
[00:04:14] listen, I'm not here to buy or sell the open house by this house.
[00:04:17] But I want to come in and just want to say how well you do your marketing
[00:04:20] and how well you do your play on words.
[00:04:23] And we're all about that maximum exposure,
[00:04:26] hustling nonstop for our clients,
[00:04:29] hustling nonstop for our listings.
[00:04:31] Because you never know where the buyer comes from.
[00:04:34] So we believe in marketing and all platform and all channels
[00:04:37] to your database, to our team members database.
[00:04:40] We all leverage each other because you never know where the buyer come from.
[00:04:44] But I know that if I do on my best,
[00:04:46] if I were to promote in every possible platform and database
[00:04:51] and go 24 seven of that, then I will find a buyer
[00:04:55] and I will get top dollar for our listing
[00:04:58] or I'll find the dream house for my buyer.
[00:05:00] Yeah. Yeah. So that's what we believe in right now.
[00:05:02] We have a very solid community and I'm very proud of that.
[00:05:06] But at the same time, I'm very happy that like a lot of
[00:05:10] other agents and a lot of other people see that and they want to be part of this.
[00:05:14] It's amazing so far.
[00:05:15] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:05:16] And you stay your true testament of hustle, heart and stay humble. Right?
[00:05:21] Right. Like I could I could I could feel that off of you
[00:05:24] in the few conversations that I have had with you in the podcast
[00:05:26] that I got the pleasure of doing on your platform.
[00:05:29] You know, I really got that from you, right?
[00:05:31] In a big, big way.
[00:05:32] So not easy to do and like to tip my hat to you,
[00:05:35] especially someone who's been crushing it
[00:05:37] and been doing it for as long as 16 years. Right?
[00:05:40] Like good on you, right?
[00:05:42] Well, it's the same on your organization.
[00:05:43] I see that, right?
[00:05:44] The energy that you have at Spark Financial Group.
[00:05:46] Everyone is supporting one another.
[00:05:49] Right? I can see that everyone is having a great time.
[00:05:51] It's not just like they come to work, dreadful, tired.
[00:05:57] You know, it's like, oh, it's back to work again.
[00:05:59] Nine to five. It's like I can see everyone's pumped.
[00:06:01] Yeah. I can see while waiting at the front there,
[00:06:02] everyone saying hi to each other, having conversations.
[00:06:04] Great. Yeah. I love what you guys do.
[00:06:06] Love what you guys are doing here.
[00:06:07] That's awesome. Thank you for that.
[00:06:08] And what is it that keeps you motivated?
[00:06:13] What's Raymond's why?
[00:06:15] What's the biggest why?
[00:06:16] What are you doing this all for, brother?
[00:06:18] My why has changed along the way.
[00:06:22] My why now and I wake up every morning
[00:06:26] thinking how can I drive positive change?
[00:06:29] I want to make a difference.
[00:06:30] I want to make a change because real estate has been great to me
[00:06:34] in doing this for a long time
[00:06:35] and real estate, this industry has been great for my family.
[00:06:38] And I want to give back and I want to find ways to drive positive change.
[00:06:43] I literally saw a stat today, one of our charts.
[00:06:45] There's 130,000 agents in Ontario.
[00:06:48] They showed all the different agents in different provinces.
[00:06:53] How many agents in BC?
[00:06:54] BC has 26,000.
[00:06:57] Ontario has 130,000 agents.
[00:06:59] And the average sold in Ontario per agent is 1.7 per year.
[00:07:04] OK, I've seen that stat.
[00:07:05] You see that stat?
[00:07:05] Well, Vancouver is 3.7, so almost double.
[00:07:09] Wow. Right.
[00:07:11] And the amount it's crazy.
[00:07:13] Whatever I'm thinking, it's way too easy to get license.
[00:07:17] Right. It's way too easy to become a real estate agent.
[00:07:20] Right. Look at the BC chart.
[00:07:22] I use B-Sets and comparable.
[00:07:23] Obviously Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, they're all
[00:07:25] it's much smaller than number.
[00:07:27] But for some reason, Ontario is like 10, 15 times more agents
[00:07:31] in all the other provinces.
[00:07:32] Yeah. Right.
[00:07:33] But we're the least per transaction per year.
[00:07:37] But we have the most homes to sell, right?
[00:07:39] Which is just mind boggling.
[00:07:41] I don't get that.
[00:07:42] And a popular stat in saying, right?
[00:07:46] And I don't know if it's still a stat and data that exists
[00:07:49] in this factual, but five percent of the realtors are selling
[00:07:52] 95 percent of the product out there.
[00:07:55] So when you water it down and you average out at 1.7
[00:08:00] per realtor, that that's far from the truth in regards to what
[00:08:07] is happening with the average realtor selling that many units.
[00:08:10] It's it's almost like I would imagine, you know, that top
[00:08:14] five percent and the 95 percent are being a landslide of a style
[00:08:19] of gap in between.
[00:08:20] Well, it's 80-20 in all in all businesses.
[00:08:22] Yeah. 20 percent is doing 80 percent of the business.
[00:08:24] 80 percent agents doing 20 percent of the business.
[00:08:26] Yeah. That's the general.
[00:08:28] Right. Which for a weapon like yourself.
[00:08:30] And trained experience agents that you have on your team,
[00:08:34] like you're eating a lot more up. Right?
[00:08:37] Like then I don't know.
[00:08:39] Well, yeah, we do on average to we sell two homes per week on average.
[00:08:45] But but but I'm trying to go.
[00:08:48] I'm not going to post my numbers.
[00:08:50] Right. I'm here to get that out of you though.
[00:08:54] Love it. 104.
[00:08:56] All right. Yeah. A little bit better than 1.7 there.
[00:09:00] Go for it.
[00:09:01] Going back to the point.
[00:09:02] Sorry. Sorry.
[00:09:02] Going back to the point of the chart that really kind of why we got into this
[00:09:06] is that 1.7 per agent per year per year, that's the average homes
[00:09:11] itself. Yeah. It's crazy. Right.
[00:09:13] And and you can't blame the public to think that all these agents make too much
[00:09:16] money. We make money way too fast.
[00:09:19] We're not serving the clients properly.
[00:09:22] And with just what is it glorified or drivers or glorified door
[00:09:27] openers, right?
[00:09:28] I really want positive changes in the sense that I feel like we can do better.
[00:09:32] Right. And I am so sick of tired of agents flashing the G wagon,
[00:09:38] the Rolexes, the Gold Watch, the Gucci belt coming out of a nice car
[00:09:42] and their listing videos and the house tours or whatever and any of the
[00:09:45] content videos.
[00:09:46] And they put that in the pedestal.
[00:09:48] They put that in the forefront of the video.
[00:09:49] Right. How is that possible?
[00:09:51] Like I'm thinking if I were a seller buyer looking to buy a house,
[00:09:54] how does that help me with my situation?
[00:09:57] Right. How does, how are you promoting your listing that way?
[00:10:00] Right? Yeah. Now I get it.
[00:10:01] If you're selling luxury is a different lifestyle.
[00:10:02] You're selling lifestyle. I get it.
[00:10:04] But the average buyers are buying a 500 K to $2 million.
[00:10:07] Like I don't get that.
[00:10:09] And where I feel like we can do better.
[00:10:10] And that's why I said that I'm in a stage right now.
[00:10:13] Like why I wake up every morning trying to think about how can I
[00:10:16] first drive positive change to my family?
[00:10:18] Beautiful. How can I drive positive change with myself?
[00:10:20] Then I can support my family.
[00:10:22] Then after that is how can I drive positive change within my organization?
[00:10:26] And then it starts with in, it starts within.
[00:10:28] If I can drive positive change in my organization,
[00:10:31] then eventually I can drive positive change within this industry.
[00:10:34] Right. But it starts with the inside out.
[00:10:36] Right. Right.
[00:10:38] And you know, and I do it patiently and I try to, you know,
[00:10:42] distill that every day, day by day in my organization
[00:10:45] with what you do with our content.
[00:10:47] Really one of the, I brought you on to a podcast
[00:10:50] because like this is the way we should be like collaborating,
[00:10:54] supporting one another.
[00:10:56] Yeah.
[00:10:56] Not you trying to one up each other or ego gets in the way in a deal.
[00:11:01] How can you probably serve your clients like that?
[00:11:04] Yeah. Right.
[00:11:05] Yeah. So that's my why.
[00:11:07] If you guys are liking the way this episode is moving forward,
[00:11:10] just give us a like, give us a subscribe.
[00:11:12] It's that easy. Let's get it.
[00:11:13] Yeah. That's awesome, man.
[00:11:14] That's very cool and totally sings the tune
[00:11:18] and hovers around that word humble.
[00:11:20] Right. Like truly, truly stay humble.
[00:11:23] Yeah. Like I've been there before.
[00:11:25] Right. When I first started because I didn't have proper guidance.
[00:11:27] I thought that when I first started real estate,
[00:11:30] I have to be that agent.
[00:11:33] I have to look like an agent.
[00:11:35] Yeah.
[00:11:35] Right. There's a look like a certain way.
[00:11:37] Right. You right.
[00:11:39] And you know, in this business, how did you?
[00:11:41] How did you do so tell me a little bit about what you know?
[00:11:44] You like every day going to go in suit getting suited up.
[00:11:48] Right. And a certain way of talking or attitude or anything, but.
[00:11:53] Give me an example.
[00:11:54] Right.
[00:11:55] Give me the example.
[00:11:57] Yeah.
[00:11:58] Give me.
[00:11:59] I can't when you weren't so humble, give me an example.
[00:12:03] I was still humble.
[00:12:04] I'll say I was still humble. OK.
[00:12:06] I was just I'm just saying that at the same time
[00:12:08] that I wasn't at all that comfortable.
[00:12:11] Like I felt like I wasn't deep down.
[00:12:13] I was like, I'm not being my authentic self.
[00:12:16] Yeah. Got it.
[00:12:16] You know what I mean? That's what I'm aligned with that look and
[00:12:18] right that attitude and that way of approaching business.
[00:12:22] I thought that that was the way to get successful.
[00:12:24] And I thought that was the way that that's what client expects.
[00:12:27] Yeah, but it's not true.
[00:12:29] Yeah.
[00:12:29] Client actually wants authenticity.
[00:12:31] They want you to be a consultant advisor
[00:12:35] and really care for them.
[00:12:37] And that's why one of my models is put people first.
[00:12:39] And that's what I've always been like.
[00:12:41] So I feel like I got rid of the suit.
[00:12:43] I still wear hair and dare.
[00:12:44] I love dressing up like it's part of my thing.
[00:12:47] But still, it's not my like my true self is just being putting people first.
[00:12:53] Yeah.
[00:12:53] So I realize that it's about value.
[00:12:57] Right. It's always about just giving value.
[00:12:59] And when you when you do that first
[00:13:03] in all instances, I feel like everyone wins.
[00:13:05] Nice. Yeah, absolutely. Love that.
[00:13:07] You're a family man.
[00:13:08] Ray, tell me a little bit of what that looks like
[00:13:11] because you got a busy schedule and
[00:13:14] you remember speaking with you a little bit about it again
[00:13:17] on the podcast that we did your that's big, big for you.
[00:13:20] You're a family man and talk talk to me about how you balance the work life.
[00:13:25] Balance the work life.
[00:13:26] So I wake up every morning at four or five a.m.
[00:13:29] Yeah.
[00:13:30] And because we all know how it is running an organization
[00:13:33] doing the doing the deals.
[00:13:35] And at the same time, two kids and the third one coming up now.
[00:13:39] Nice.
[00:13:40] Thanks, brother.
[00:13:41] Yeah, yeah.
[00:13:42] And the only alone time I really have that can really truly
[00:13:47] think to myself and manifest is in the mornings.
[00:13:50] That's the reason why I wake up early
[00:13:52] and I call it the golden hour, right?
[00:13:55] Because that's where I feel like I do the most work
[00:13:57] to actually really move the needle.
[00:13:58] And but before I do that, I put again, my workout in.
[00:14:01] I feel like once you wake up, you really got to move, move your body,
[00:14:05] right, do as heavy as possible
[00:14:08] because I feel like there's a lot of fires
[00:14:10] that got to put out throughout the day.
[00:14:11] And when you move really heavy, get really, really painful.
[00:14:16] All the other stuff just become easy, right?
[00:14:18] So I go really hard in the beginning.
[00:14:20] I try and the days are not working.
[00:14:23] I try to stretch or meditate.
[00:14:25] Yeah.
[00:14:25] Yeah.
[00:14:25] So I don't go to gym every single day, but three or four times a week.
[00:14:29] And after that, I do the work.
[00:14:32] I manifest ideas.
[00:14:34] I get on my laptop, laptop, answer some emails for 15, 20 minutes,
[00:14:39] get a nice nutrition dense breakfast, then drive the kids to school.
[00:14:45] Weapon.
[00:14:46] Yeah. Weapon.
[00:14:48] Like you're busy for four hours in the morning
[00:14:51] before you even drive them to school because I can't wake up at 730.
[00:14:54] So I really got that three or four hours.
[00:14:56] Yeah, exactly.
[00:14:57] Yeah. For you.
[00:14:57] What is foundation to to launch off of for the rest of the day?
[00:15:01] Right. Like that's powerful.
[00:15:02] You got it, brother.
[00:15:03] Yeah, that's powerful.
[00:15:04] Good for you.
[00:15:05] And what time do you usually shut the engines down
[00:15:07] because realtors are known for showings after hours or yet that point?
[00:15:11] Now, that's the number one question I get.
[00:15:12] Yeah.
[00:15:13] I sleep at 930.
[00:15:15] Yeah.
[00:15:15] Sleep at 930.
[00:15:16] Yeah, I want to tell me one like even though I wake up early,
[00:15:19] get your sleep in because sleep is extremely important.
[00:15:22] Yeah.
[00:15:22] I don't sleep late and I'm in a position that I'm very blessed
[00:15:26] that I have a streamlined process and I've trusted people that can help me.
[00:15:31] Yeah.
[00:15:31] Do the showings and do the deal sometimes.
[00:15:33] I still do the deals
[00:15:34] because I feel like if you don't stop trading, if you stop trading real estate,
[00:15:38] you're going to be out of touch and you're going to be out of tune of the market,
[00:15:41] which is that you can't really serve your agents and help them
[00:15:44] because they're going to have a lot of the reliant on advice on that.
[00:15:48] Yeah.
[00:15:49] So I still trade on that.
[00:15:50] And plus I love trading.
[00:15:51] I love to do.
[00:15:51] I'm a deal maker.
[00:15:52] I love doing deals.
[00:15:53] I will never stop trading real estate.
[00:15:55] Yeah.
[00:15:55] Okay.
[00:15:55] And I'm blessed in that situation that I've systemized
[00:15:58] that was streamlined process that I can sleep early.
[00:16:01] Nice.
[00:16:02] And do my thing in the morning.
[00:16:03] Yeah.
[00:16:03] Right on.
[00:16:04] Good on you.
[00:16:05] And that takes years of experience and experience and understanding how to
[00:16:09] navigate through the day and how to delegate and how to implement certain
[00:16:14] structure and hire support staff.
[00:16:16] And like, you know, like what is tell us a little bit about that formula.
[00:16:20] Ray, that when I look back, it's actually doesn't actually take that long,
[00:16:24] but it's because I didn't get proper guidance and I wasn't in the support
[00:16:27] system and or coaching or anything like that.
[00:16:30] Proper coaching.
[00:16:31] I got coaching in my fifth or sixth year.
[00:16:32] I realized that it made a lot of mistakes.
[00:16:35] Man, I went drove a lot of different roads that, you know, I should have drove
[00:16:41] on a different route really.
[00:16:43] And really the systemization is extremely important in real estate
[00:16:48] because you want a scalable, repeatable, predictable business.
[00:16:51] Right.
[00:16:52] You want a business that doesn't stress you out that everybody comes
[00:16:57] into this business for different reasons and everyone has different ambitious.
[00:17:00] It is not everybody wants to be a million dollar real estate agent.
[00:17:03] Some people get into the business perfectly happy with 100K, 200K, 300K.
[00:17:09] Right.
[00:17:10] And at the end of the day, your goal for being in real estate in your
[00:17:14] career is to achieve a lifestyle friendly business.
[00:17:18] That's key.
[00:17:19] Like you got to treat this as a business first.
[00:17:20] Some people come in the wrong mindset as like a job or a salary,
[00:17:24] or you're going to be dead if you have that mindset.
[00:17:26] I'm telling you, because you got to come in knowing that you are the owner
[00:17:29] of your business and you are an entrepreneur.
[00:17:33] You have to think like that.
[00:17:35] You have to.
[00:17:36] And it's about achieving lifestyle friendly business.
[00:17:38] And the only way to do that is to systemize and streamline
[00:17:43] your organization, your business or you are going to be running around
[00:17:50] you know, revolving around the client schedule and no real plan.
[00:17:56] And that's always not a good idea.
[00:17:59] Yeah, business and it could lead to frustration.
[00:18:02] Right.
[00:18:03] And then people get discouraged when they're steady frustrated
[00:18:06] and they're banging their heads up against the wall.
[00:18:08] They're like, I can't figure this out and you can be really good at it
[00:18:11] and you could exhaust the amount of hours that are on the clock.
[00:18:14] But unless you got that framework and that understanding and
[00:18:17] and you know, that formula, right?
[00:18:20] You continue.
[00:18:20] You feel almost like a rat on the wheel.
[00:18:22] Right.
[00:18:23] Like you're just burning out.
[00:18:24] And you got to develop bad habits.
[00:18:26] Right.
[00:18:27] And like you said, you're just frustrating and it's not good for your own health.
[00:18:31] You get burnt out and demotivated.
[00:18:34] Right.
[00:18:34] And you got to give up.
[00:18:35] Yeah.
[00:18:35] But if you put yourself in a position surrounding a good environment, find mentors,
[00:18:41] find the support system at the same time, like go, yeah, go listen to podcasts,
[00:18:45] go do trainings, go have a solid plan every day.
[00:18:49] Yeah.
[00:18:49] Right.
[00:18:50] You do want some kind of consistency in your life.
[00:18:55] If you're in a real estate mortgage broker, some kind of commission based
[00:19:00] career because you need discipline.
[00:19:03] Yeah.
[00:19:03] You need some kind of degree all over the place.
[00:19:06] Yeah.
[00:19:06] That's a strong point.
[00:19:08] Yeah.
[00:19:08] Yeah.
[00:19:08] Because we make our own schedules or we work on our own time or, you know,
[00:19:14] we have those luxuries, right?
[00:19:16] And again, those are words that are used, that are associated with, you know,
[00:19:20] our calendars and the way that we move in shape.
[00:19:23] But really, you know, to go to your point, if you don't create that foundation
[00:19:27] in that schedule and abide by it and have some discipline to stay consistent,
[00:19:32] you'll go fucking crazy in the head.
[00:19:33] You go nuts.
[00:19:34] Yeah.
[00:19:34] One of the manager in my early years, he said that the best part
[00:19:37] of being real estate is you have your, you create your own calendar.
[00:19:40] You know what's the worst part of being an agent?
[00:19:42] You create your own calendar.
[00:19:43] Create your own calendar.
[00:19:45] Yeah.
[00:19:45] Yeah.
[00:19:46] Yeah.
[00:19:46] Yeah.
[00:19:46] You're going to fall off fast.
[00:19:48] Yeah.
[00:19:48] Yeah.
[00:19:49] It's true.
[00:19:49] It's true.
[00:19:50] Yeah.
[00:19:50] Yeah.
[00:19:51] And I think I could personally say, I learned the hard way when it came
[00:19:55] to that, right?
[00:19:56] Just not knowing how to really dial in time management.
[00:20:00] That's what it comes down to, right?
[00:20:01] And understand.
[00:20:02] You learn on the way.
[00:20:03] Yeah.
[00:20:03] You learn and grow.
[00:20:05] So.
[00:20:05] Mm-hmm.
[00:20:06] So for any of the young entrepreneurs, let's not say, let's say outside
[00:20:11] of real estate, right?
[00:20:12] Because, you know, the skill sets that you have and the experience
[00:20:15] that you have in running a team and scaling your business and, you know,
[00:20:19] doing everything that you're doing in regards to the personal development
[00:20:22] piece and all that other good stuff.
[00:20:26] What would be your number one tip if you just, if you were able
[00:20:29] to just give one tip to the audience listening in to some young
[00:20:32] entrepreneurs, what would that be?
[00:20:35] Find a good mentor.
[00:20:36] Find a good support system.
[00:20:38] Find a good community.
[00:20:40] Find a good community.
[00:20:41] Right?
[00:20:42] The reason why you want a strong, the reason why you want a strong
[00:20:45] community is because it's for any business, right?
[00:20:49] It doesn't matter if you're insurance, real estate or finance.
[00:20:52] Yeah.
[00:20:53] It's like the power of masterminds.
[00:20:55] It's like a masterclass on steroids.
[00:20:58] Yeah.
[00:20:58] Right?
[00:20:59] Imagine you have different leaders in your marketplace sharing
[00:21:03] knowledge, uplifting one another, supporting one another.
[00:21:06] No ego.
[00:21:07] No ego, right?
[00:21:08] Yeah.
[00:21:09] It's and passing that good energy around.
[00:21:12] Yeah.
[00:21:13] Yeah, it's like an extended family.
[00:21:14] Yeah.
[00:21:15] Yeah.
[00:21:15] Guys, that's a powerful stuff.
[00:21:17] Guys, for all you young entrepreneurs listening in, those
[00:21:21] were two very, very powerful points.
[00:21:23] OK, guys, coaching and mentoring because they've been there.
[00:21:27] They've done it.
[00:21:27] They figured it out, right?
[00:21:29] So don't think that you have to learn the hard way or go
[00:21:31] through those years and those millions of dollars in a lot
[00:21:35] of cases that it takes to learn what they've learned as
[00:21:37] they got the formula, right?
[00:21:39] So and surrounding yourself with the right community
[00:21:43] is extremely powerful because that very popular saying that
[00:21:46] goes, show me who your friends are.
[00:21:48] Right?
[00:21:49] And before even meeting you all have a great understanding
[00:21:52] for who it is you are.
[00:21:53] The same goes in business, right?
[00:21:55] Who are the weapons that you're surrounding yourself with
[00:21:58] and are those movers and shakers that really know what
[00:22:01] they're doing and if they are and you're being coached,
[00:22:05] beautiful points.
[00:22:06] And I love the way that you spat those out so quickly, too,
[00:22:09] because you had to nail on the head with them.
[00:22:11] Absolutely.
[00:22:12] I truly think so.
[00:22:13] And that's one of the reasons why I'm all about creating
[00:22:16] a community, right?
[00:22:17] And I don't have the answers for everything.
[00:22:20] I can say that like agents come to me and say, oh,
[00:22:24] have you dealt with something like this or what would you
[00:22:26] do in this position?
[00:22:27] And I'm like, I don't have the answer for you for that.
[00:22:30] But I know who does.
[00:22:31] This team member, Cherry, this team member, Michael does.
[00:22:34] Yeah.
[00:22:34] Right?
[00:22:35] Yeah.
[00:22:35] So that's why when you have a good culture and everyone
[00:22:37] really wants the best for one another.
[00:22:39] Yeah.
[00:22:40] That's a powerful force.
[00:22:41] Absolutely.
[00:22:42] Jack of all trades, master of none.
[00:22:44] But for you as the leader to understand that,
[00:22:46] embrace your teammates and say, no, he's the expert with
[00:22:49] that or she's the expert with that.
[00:22:51] And that's where you're going to get the most bang
[00:22:53] for your buck in regards to feedback and advice.
[00:22:56] That's powerful, right?
[00:22:57] Because a lot of times some leaders out there will be
[00:23:01] sitting in the room and they'll
[00:23:02] have to be the smartest one at the table
[00:23:04] and the one that are calling the shots from all the seats.
[00:23:08] And again, no judgment, no chirping over here.
[00:23:10] But I'm not a believer in that.
[00:23:13] And I know a lot of other rock stars that are doing it right
[00:23:16] aren't either.
[00:23:18] You need to have a deep humility for yourself.
[00:23:21] You have to.
[00:23:22] And it's about improving yourself.
[00:23:25] It's about improving yourself.
[00:23:26] Not proving yourself.
[00:23:27] It's about improving yourself.
[00:23:29] I'm constantly improving.
[00:23:30] I literally just told my team yesterday
[00:23:32] that I learned something from Brian.
[00:23:34] And Brian is a young gun, 23 years old,
[00:23:36] just got his license.
[00:23:37] This guy's killing it.
[00:23:39] And I told them I learned something from him.
[00:23:40] Wow.
[00:23:41] Right?
[00:23:42] And that's powerful stuff in the sense
[00:23:44] that everyone has different strengths.
[00:23:48] I feel like don't worry so much about your weakness.
[00:23:52] Don't worry so much on improving your weakness,
[00:23:53] I find it.
[00:23:54] Instead put yourself in a position
[00:23:55] with different people who really support one another,
[00:23:58] leverage off each other.
[00:24:00] Leverage is a key word.
[00:24:01] And everyone has different strengths.
[00:24:04] And leverage each other's strengths.
[00:24:06] I'm not that strong maybe in the new TikTok trend
[00:24:10] or what these Gen Zs are trending, right?
[00:24:13] But what Brian did in his videos,
[00:24:15] I'm like I learned something there.
[00:24:16] Yeah.
[00:24:17] Right?
[00:24:18] Nice.
[00:24:19] And that's why we always feel like we are proactive
[00:24:22] and not reactive with the marketplace.
[00:24:25] I'm always finding different ways to market,
[00:24:29] innovative marketing.
[00:24:31] And you can do that if you have different walks of life
[00:24:34] in your organization.
[00:24:36] And everyone truly wants the best for another.
[00:24:38] And everyone really supporting each other
[00:24:40] and sharing knowledge with each other.
[00:24:43] Yeah, love that.
[00:24:43] Love that.
[00:24:44] The humility aspect is massive.
[00:24:46] And the fact that you make that known to your team too.
[00:24:49] Like hey guys look,
[00:24:50] this 23 year old kid over here, right?
[00:24:53] I just learned something really valuable from him.
[00:24:55] And I think that he should take the stage
[00:24:57] and say his piece and everyone maybe take a little,
[00:25:01] you know advice from it.
[00:25:03] I always give everyone the center stage.
[00:25:05] It's not just me.
[00:25:07] Like in our community, it's no hierarchy.
[00:25:11] Yeah.
[00:25:12] Yeah, I don't believe in any kind of hierarchy.
[00:25:13] Everyone's equal.
[00:25:15] Everyone really wants the best for each other.
[00:25:17] You know, everyone's trying to put those points
[00:25:19] on the scoreboard.
[00:25:19] It's all about getting those wins every single day.
[00:25:22] Yeah.
[00:25:23] But when there's challenge,
[00:25:24] we can count on one another.
[00:25:26] Just like you said on my part,
[00:25:27] if you take a bullet for me, I take a bullet for you.
[00:25:29] Yeah.
[00:25:30] Everyone got each other's backs.
[00:25:31] Yeah.
[00:25:32] 100%.
[00:25:32] And that's what really makes it be that
[00:25:36] the show is a beautiful one, right?
[00:25:38] As it continues to go on.
[00:25:39] Let me ask you Nick,
[00:25:40] how do you instill culture every single day
[00:25:43] to your organization?
[00:25:44] Yeah.
[00:25:45] Leading by example, right?
[00:25:46] And really showing up on an ongoing basis
[00:25:49] and acknowledging them for their hard work,
[00:25:52] for their dedication,
[00:25:54] for things that they do
[00:25:55] that add to what it is we've built here.
[00:25:58] Because this is far from a one man show.
[00:26:00] Very, very far from one man show.
[00:26:02] And everybody needs to know that.
[00:26:04] They need to know that.
[00:26:05] They're as big as a contributor
[00:26:06] to what's going on over here as I am, right?
[00:26:09] I'm just simply doing my role.
[00:26:11] So I feel that when everyone feels that,
[00:26:15] but truly understands it,
[00:26:18] then it just makes it so vibrant and beautiful
[00:26:21] and full of love, right?
[00:26:22] And from there, a lot of great things start to happen.
[00:26:26] No, that makes a lot of sense.
[00:26:27] I'm gonna go a bit deeper here.
[00:26:29] Because we all have it in our leadership
[00:26:31] in running an organization.
[00:26:32] There always gotta be people
[00:26:34] that are not open with the communication
[00:26:37] or they wanna do better
[00:26:39] but they're a bit hesitant
[00:26:42] to ask the upper line or you or whatever.
[00:26:45] Like how do you make sure everybody's happy?
[00:26:48] That's what I'm like.
[00:26:48] How do you make sure everybody is happy
[00:26:51] and they're growing and everyone's winning?
[00:26:53] Yeah, conscious communication is really big, right?
[00:26:57] And being able to sit down
[00:26:58] and set the stage properly
[00:27:00] for a conversation to take place
[00:27:03] in the right setting at the right time
[00:27:05] and just hear them all.
[00:27:07] Just listen, right?
[00:27:08] Let them talk.
[00:27:09] Understanding what their wants, needs and desires are,
[00:27:12] right, are very important, right?
[00:27:13] And if I can equip them with what they need
[00:27:15] to do their jobs
[00:27:16] and have it be that their wants, needs
[00:27:18] and desires are met from the company's end,
[00:27:21] then it's just gonna turn out to be an awesome result.
[00:27:24] I love that.
[00:27:25] I love that.
[00:27:26] We have a thing in our community
[00:27:27] called Pursuit Growth and Learning
[00:27:29] and open communication is so important.
[00:27:31] So important because everybody has the down days
[00:27:34] or the down months or whatever.
[00:27:36] And it's not about we're the best
[00:27:38] and even though we're on a roll or we're winning
[00:27:41] there's always ways to improve.
[00:27:44] And one good suggestion is
[00:27:47] I'll send out like a Google form,
[00:27:49] I'll email them, all of our team members support staff
[00:27:52] doesn't matter if it's sales agent or support.
[00:27:55] And different question there is about
[00:27:57] what do you think about this?
[00:27:58] How can we improve on that?
[00:27:59] Is there anything that you wanna say?
[00:28:01] And it would be like totally anonymous.
[00:28:04] Totally anonymous.
[00:28:05] I like that.
[00:28:05] Unless they choose to put their name on it
[00:28:08] then we can set a time,
[00:28:11] currently link, schedule it in one-on-one
[00:28:13] let's talk about it.
[00:28:14] I like that.
[00:28:15] Yeah.
[00:28:16] That's brilliant.
[00:28:17] That's been working for us.
[00:28:18] Constructive and to take that as a leader
[00:28:21] is constructive feedback.
[00:28:23] And to go to your point, right?
[00:28:25] Be humble and leave the ego aside.
[00:28:28] It's powerful because that's how we all continue
[00:28:30] to show up and improve.
[00:28:32] We're far from perfect
[00:28:33] and we'll always be far from perfect.
[00:28:35] But the fact that you do that as a leader
[00:28:38] that is fucking amazing brother.
[00:28:39] I love that.
[00:28:40] Listen, hustle will always be talent.
[00:28:43] Hustle doesn't matter how you get the job
[00:28:45] hustle will always be talent.
[00:28:47] Humble, stay humble.
[00:28:48] Why?
[00:28:49] Because when you stay humble
[00:28:50] and it allows you to be creative
[00:28:53] and allows you to be always constantly improving
[00:28:58] it always puts you on your ground.
[00:29:02] That's why.
[00:29:03] Hustle hard, stay humble baby.
[00:29:05] Yeah.
[00:29:05] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:29:07] Love it, love it, love it.
[00:29:08] And what do you have planned for the next year,
[00:29:13] five years, 10 years?
[00:29:15] What are some exciting things
[00:29:17] that we should know about?
[00:29:19] Right.
[00:29:19] I know you got a lot going on
[00:29:21] and your team is growing,
[00:29:22] your smash and volume.
[00:29:24] You're doing these amazing things
[00:29:26] to show up as a solid leader on an ongoing basis.
[00:29:29] But what are some exciting things
[00:29:31] that you want us to know about?
[00:29:32] I'm excited growing my agent's business.
[00:29:35] When I see their grow,
[00:29:36] I get excited.
[00:29:37] Yeah, I get excited.
[00:29:39] So I'm excited to see them constantly winning
[00:29:42] and growing their business,
[00:29:43] their organization within the organization.
[00:29:46] That's what I'm pumped about.
[00:29:47] And at the same time when they're growing,
[00:29:49] I'm growing, we're all growing
[00:29:51] and the community is growing.
[00:29:53] So I'm not in a rush
[00:29:55] or I'm not in a hurry to grow
[00:29:58] the organization of growing the community.
[00:30:00] If you are very vibing,
[00:30:01] if you have the same energy,
[00:30:03] then it's go, right?
[00:30:04] I'm all about attracting and not recruiting, right?
[00:30:07] If we have the same ethos and the same energy,
[00:30:09] I feel we can work along together.
[00:30:11] So I'm in no hurry to grow through this
[00:30:14] as a 50 man team, 100 man or whatever.
[00:30:17] I don't care about that.
[00:30:18] Right?
[00:30:19] It's about quality.
[00:30:20] So like I don't,
[00:30:22] that's what my plans are.
[00:30:24] Constantly just growing myself,
[00:30:26] leading by example,
[00:30:26] this way I can grow the community
[00:30:28] and growing my agent's business.
[00:30:30] At the same time,
[00:30:31] just doing cool marketing,
[00:30:33] just doing dope shit.
[00:30:35] Doing dope shit with dope people.
[00:30:37] If you have awesome people in your organization,
[00:30:39] you know what I mean?
[00:30:40] Like life is good.
[00:30:42] Your career is fine, man.
[00:30:43] Going to work is fine.
[00:30:45] Just doing dope shit,
[00:30:46] talking about dope things with dope people.
[00:30:48] Right?
[00:30:50] I love that.
[00:30:51] Oh yeah, that's cool, man.
[00:30:53] And you know what?
[00:30:54] That's spoken by a true leader
[00:30:55] because you're worried about
[00:30:58] everybody else's book,
[00:31:00] how much volume they're putting through
[00:31:02] their success.
[00:31:03] And that goes back
[00:31:05] to what we were spitting game about on your podcast.
[00:31:07] You take a bullet for me,
[00:31:08] I take a bullet for you kind of vibe.
[00:31:10] It wasn't in any regard to do with the corporation,
[00:31:13] the operation, your volume,
[00:31:16] how big the team was gonna be with members
[00:31:18] that aren't joined yet,
[00:31:19] that are gonna be joined.
[00:31:20] It was about who's there right now
[00:31:22] and how do I help them out, right?
[00:31:24] In a big way and grow their book.
[00:31:25] So that's beautiful, bro.
[00:31:27] That's very powerful, right?
[00:31:28] Have fun, man.
[00:31:29] Have fun.
[00:31:30] Have fun what you're doing.
[00:31:31] Life is too short to be stressed out.
[00:31:33] Yeah.
[00:31:34] Yeah.
[00:31:35] Love that.
[00:31:35] So love what you do.
[00:31:36] Be authentic, be yourself.
[00:31:38] Love that.
